Steady growth in production

From January to August, the added value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size grew by 9.3 percent year on year, 5.7 percentage points higher than that of the industrial and high-tech manufacturing industries and 0.9 percentage points higher. In August, the value added of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size grew 5.5 percent year on year, 1.8 percentage points lower than that in July. From January to August, the output of mobile phones was 990 million sets, down 4.5% year on year, and the output of smart phones was 757 million sets, down 4.2% year on year. The output of microcomputer equipment was 278 million, down 6.7 percent year-on-year. The output of integrated circuits was 218.1 billion pieces, down 10% year-on-year.

The scale of exports continues to expand

From January to August, the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size achieved a cumulative increase of 6.2% year-on-year in export delivery value, which was 0.9 percentage points lower than that in January to July. In August, the export delivery value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 1% year on year, 2.6 percentage points lower than that in July. According to customs statistics, from January to August, China exported 118 million laptops, down 17 percent year on year. China exported 538 million mobile phones, down 10.5% year on year. The export of integrated circuits was 186.3 billion, down 9.9% year on year.

Corporate revenue continues to improve

From January to August, the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size achieved operating revenue of 9,524.8 billion yuan, up by 7.6% year on year and 0.3 percentage points lower than that in January to July; Operating cost 8,298.7 billion yuan, up by 8.8% year on year; The total profit was 449.9 billion yuan, down 5.6% year on year and 4 percentage points narrower than that in the first seven months. Operating income margin was 4.7%

Investment has maintained rapid growth

From January to August, fixed-asset investment in the electronic information manufacturing industry grew by 18.7 percent year on year, 8.2 percentage points higher than that of industrial investment in the same period, but 4.3 percentage points lower than that of high-tech manufacturing
